Jay got his start in dirt racing in the early 1990s with Houck Racing, serving as a pit crew member and tire specialist on the #88 Late Model of Dan Houck. He later competed in a limited schedule of Street Modified races at Delaware International and Georgetown Speedways before taking a 30-year hiatus from racing.
In 2019, at the urging of Billy Cummings, Jay made his return to the dirt track in 2020 and scored his first career win in the 2021 season opener at Georgetown. Since then, our team’s premier driver won three consecutive Delmarva Chargers Sport Compact Racing Club Championships (2021–2023) and secured the Middleford Speedway points championships in 2022 and 2024.
According to Jay:
“One of my most memorable racing experiences was qualifying and competing in the weeklong 2022 Bristol Dirt Nationals Hornet series and qualifying for the A-main in which I gained 10 positions and secured the Hard Charger award.”
